How does the search function in the academy work?

Modified on Tue, 12 Sep, 2023 at 3:54 PM

When an employee searches for a certain learning item, you can use the search function at the top of the page in the academy or the search function on the discover page.

By using a certain search keyword, you can see results for micro learnings, online courses, events, external offers and learning tracks. If you use the search bar at the top of the page, only the results of the learning type you're searching for will be shown. If you use the search function on the discover page, the micro learnings will always be displayed first. It is possible that there are no results for micro learnings, but there are for external content libraries for example. The options menu at the top of the page allows you to switch between the different learning methods.

Searches will always be performed for learning items which are visible to users within their learning environment. These are learning items set to ‘Visible to all’ and are thus part of a content library and learning items which are assigned to (a certain group) from the LMS.

If the search function at the top of the page is used, suggestions will be displayed here. If an employee clicks on a suggestion, this will be the search keyword used. Suggestions display possible learning items which are searched. When an employee clicks on one of these learning items, they are directly forwarded to the information page of the learning item in question.

Keep in mind that the entire search keyword is used for searching. If a field contains part of the search term, it will not be displayed in the search results.
