Manage Team Manager Notifications

Modified on Mon, 11 Sep, 2023 at 11:49 AM

It’s possible to disable various notifications for Team Managers. This can be useful when your team structure has different layers. The direct manager of the users may need to receive notifications, but the branch director not. You can then turn off notifications for this manager in the team in question.

Under ‘Information’ you can see who are linked to the team as managers. Click on the notification preference beside the name of the manager to open the pop-up screen.

You can turn off various notifications in this pop-up. You can choose to disable everything or, for example, only 'Request Notifications' when the manager does not need to review requests from users in the relevant team, but does need notifications regarding expired qualifications and certificates. You can turn off the notifications for a team manager per team. This is useful when, for example, a team manager needs to receive notifications when a direct employee submits a request, but this is not necessary when an employee from the overarching team submits a request.

Under 'Academy Settings > Notifications' in the LMS you can disable or enable the notification preferences 'Course deadline notification' as well as 'Certificate expiration notifications' for all managers within the academy. By default, personal settings are used.

The following will explain exactly what is meant by the corresponding notification:

  • Certificate Expiration: When a certificate that has been manually uploaded expires, the user’s manager will receive a notification.

  • Deadline notifications: A manager receives a notification one day before a deadline expires and one day after the deadline expires of an online training course.

  • Qualification expiration date: A manager receives a notification when a user’s qualification is about to expire and they have not yet been re-qualified

  • Request notifications: A manager will receive a notification when a user on his or her team has submitted a request for external training.

Note that the email sent when a participant manually downloads a certificate is not linked to any of these notifications. So this notification can only be turned off as a whole in the academy, not per person.

You need the ‘All Employees’ permissions to manage team manager notifications under ‘Employees > Teams’ in the LMS. If you want to change the notification preferences under 'Academy Settings' you will need 'Manage Settings' permissions.
