In this article, we explain step by step how to set up a budget approval rule in the LMS.
Step 1: Go to the correct settings
- Navigate to the Workflows tab in the LMS.
- Click Create.
- Select Approval rule.
- Choose the Budget approval option.
Step 2: Enter the basic information
- Rule name: Give the budget rule a clear and descriptive name.
- Description (optional): Add additional explanation if desired.
Step 3: Configure the approval settings
Who does this rule apply to?
All employees: Suitable for requests for both external offerings and in-company trainings.
Specific teams: Only applicable to requests for external offerings.
What does this rule apply to?
- Budget type:
All academy budgets
All personal budgets
Specific academy budgets: select a specific budget
Approval configuration
Approved by: Determine who must approve the request.
For requests starting from: Set a threshold amount. Requests below this amount do not require approval.
Step 4: Assign approving managers
The following managers must approve: Select the managers who are allowed to approve budget requests.
Select how approvals work:
All selected managers must approve
Approval from one of the selected managers is sufficient
Step 5: Activate the budget rule
Click Activate budget rule to put the rule into effect.
