Qualifications – Strict Expiry Date

Modified on Thu, 22 Jan at 12:58 PM

In this article, you'll learn:

  • What a strict expiry date is

  • What happens to an employee when a reset occurs

  • How this differs from a regular renewal

  • What to keep in mind when requalifying

What is a strict expiry date?

When you enable the strict expiry date option for a qualification, it means:

  • The qualification is fully reset on the expiry date

  • The employee must meet the basic requirements of the qualification again

  • Any ongoing renewals are ignored: the user starts from scratch

What happens during a reset?

When a qualification is reset:

  • The status changes to "not achieved"

  • The employee must complete the full basic training path again

  • All ongoing renewal activities are automatically voided

Note: the basic requirements can only be met starting the day after the reset date.

Activities completed on the reset date do not count toward requalification.

This is important to avoid confusion where employees, after being reset, upload a new certificate dated today and expect to be qualified again — which is not the case.

What’s the difference compared to a regular renewal?

RenewalStrict Expiry Date

RequirementsOnly renewal activitiesFull basic requirements needed again
